Course Agenda:
- Legal issues in the workplace and community
- Basic Life Support (ANZCOR Guidelines – DRSABCD)
- Recognising and management of unconscious breathing/non breathing casualties
- Awareness and implications of implementing CPR and first aid techniques to infants and children
- CPR techniques for adult, child & infant
- Use of an AED for adults and children
- Chain of survival
- Choking Management
- Rescue procedures from a live LV panel
- Rescue equipment
- Risk minimization
- Basic first aid for trauma emergencies
Practical assessment:
- Perform CPR on adult, junior and infant manikins
- Use of an AED
- Choking management
- Inspection and placement of rescue equipment
- Rescuing person from LV panel
- Removing victim to safe location
Theory assessment:
- 20 multiple choice questions
- Other written activities
