Course Agenda:

  • Legal issues in the workplace and community
  • Basic Life Support (ANZCOR Guidelines – DRSABCD)
  • Recognising and management of unconscious breathing/non breathing casualties
  • Awareness and implications of implementing CPR and first aid techniques to infants and children
  • CPR techniques for adult, child & infant
  • Use of an AED for adults and children
  • Chain of survival
  • Choking Management
  • Rescue procedures from a live LV panel
  • Rescue equipment
  • Risk minimization
  • Basic first aid for trauma emergencies

Practical assessment:

  • Perform CPR on adult, junior and infant manikins
  • Use of an AED
  • Choking management
  • Inspection and placement of rescue equipment
  • Rescuing person from LV panel
  • Removing victim to safe location

Theory assessment:

  • 20 multiple choice questions
  • Other written activities
